Previously: When Sergeant Harris tried to ruin Lieutenant Rachel's military career with a planted piece of evidence, he didn't realize she was already one step ahead of his cruel game.

The Ambush in the Commander's Office

Within an hour, the quiet tension of the barracks escalated into an official storm. Rachel found herself summoned to the office of Captain Miller, the base commander. When she walked in, she wasn't surprised to find Sergeant Harris already standing there. He was flanked by two of his close buddies from his unit, both of them looking straight ahead with practiced, stoic expressions. Harris himself wore a smug, victorious grin that he barely tried to hide.

Captain Miller, a stern man with decades of service, looked up from his desk, his brow furrowed with deep concern.

"Lieutenant, Sergeant Harris here has filed a formal complaint of physical assault against you," Captain Miller said, his voice heavy. "His witnesses here corroborate that you struck him without provocation in the barracks. Do you have anything to say before I suspend you from duty pending a formal inquiry?"

Rachel stood at perfect attention, showing no fear. She knew Harris had been gunning for her position ever since she was appointed to oversee his logistics unit. He couldn't handle a female officer commanding him, and this was his desperate attempt to ruin her career.

"Sir, I do have something to present," Rachel said calmly. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, metallic USB drive. "This is the security footage from the camera authorized for my locker bay. It captured the entire incident."

The smug smile vanished from Harris's face. The commander plugged the drive into his computer. The screen showed the barracks room clearly. It captured Harris pulling the red bra out of his own pocket, marching up to Rachel, and aggressively lunging at her before she executed a perfect defensive block. There was no assault—only defense.

But just as Captain Miller looked up, ready to reprimand Harris, the sergeant scrambled. He pulled a folded document from his vest and slammed it on the desk.

"Even if that's true, sir, look at this!" Harris stammered desperately. "She's running an illegal smuggling ring using our logistics trucks. That paper has her signature authorizing the contraband!"

Captain Miller picked up the paper, his eyes widening as he saw Rachel's signature at the bottom. Rachel's heart hammered against her ribs; she had never signed such a document. She was being framed for a serious military crime.
