A Snobbish Boutique Manager Disrespected My Broken Watch—Then She Realized Who Built the Store
Previously: When Clara brought her husband's worn watch to a luxury boutique, the manager tried to throw her out. She had no idea the woman in the wheelchair held the keys to the entire empire.
A Confrontation of Truths
The silence in the boutique was deafening. Sarah stared at the faded photograph, her breath catching in her throat. For a brief second, sheer panic flickered in her eyes. But her arrogance quickly overrode her fear. She snatched the photograph from Liam's hand, scoffing loudly.
"This is a pathetic attempt at a scam,"Sarah spat, her voice trembling slightly as she tried to regain control. "You think you can come in here in a wheelchair, with a cheap prop, and pretend to be royalty? I know the history of this company, and the founder's widow retired to Europe years ago!"
Clara shook her head sadly. "Arthur and I built this flagship store with our own hands, Sarah. I only moved away to grieve. But this was always our home." Sarah refused to listen. She grabbed the handles of Clara's wheelchair, intending to force her out into the street.
"Get out before I call security and have you arrested for fraud!"she shrieked.

Liam stepped forward, placing his hand firmly over Sarah's to stop her from pushing the wheelchair. "That is enough!" the young assistant declared. "Look at the signature on the back of the photo, Sarah. Look at the founder's portrait. It is her." Sarah glared at Liam, her face twisted in rage. "You are fired, Liam! Pack your things and get out!"
Just as Sarah began to push Clara toward the exit, the heavy glass doors opened once again. A group of executives in tailored suits walked into the showroom, led by a tall, silver-haired man. It was Thomas Vance, the regional CEO. He had arrived for an unannounced quarterly inspection. Sarah immediately let go of the wheelchair, smoothing her suit and putting on a fake, welcoming smile. "Mr. Vance! What an honor. I was just dealing with a couple of trespassers," she lied smoothly, pointing at Clara and Liam. But Thomas wasn't looking at Sarah. His eyes were locked on the elderly woman in the wheelchair, and his face went completely pale.
