A Spoiled Heiress Tried to Humiliate a Shopper, Unaware She Owned the Boutique
Previously: When a wealthy socialite tried to have a quiet woman thrown out of an elite luxury jewelry boutique, she had no idea she was speaking to the company’s new billionaire owner.
The Price of Arrogance
An hour later, the atmosphere in Victoria’s top-floor corporate office was thick with tension. Victoria sat behind her minimalist desk, her expression unreadable as her secretary ushered in three deeply humbled visitors. Richard, pale and sweating, practically dragged Paige into the room. Steven followed closely behind, his eyes red from crying, clutching his employee badge as if it were a lifeline.
Richard immediately threw himself at Victoria’s mercy.
"Miss Vance, please, I beg of you. Paige didn't know who you were. It was a terrible mistake. Please don't ruin my career over her foolishness,"he pleaded, completely abandoning his fiancée's dignity to save his own skin.

Paige stood trembling, looking at the floor, unable to meet Victoria's piercing gaze. "I... I am truly sorry, Miss Vance," Paige whispered, her voice stripped of all its former venom. "I was out of line."
Victoria remained silent for a long moment, letting the weight of their actions hang in the air. Finally, she stood up. "Steven," she said, looking at the former manager. "Your job was to ensure that everyone who walked through our doors was treated with respect. You failed. You are terminated, effective immediately." Steven nodded silently, knowing he had no defense, and quietly left the room.
Then, Victoria turned her gaze to Richard and Paige.
"Richard, you are a capable executive, but your association with someone who treats people with such disdain reflects poorly on our corporate values. I am giving you a choice. You can stay with Paige and seek employment elsewhere, or you can terminate your relationship, undergo a six-month ethics probation, and keep your job."
Without a single second of hesitation, Richard turned to Paige, slipped the engagement ring off her finger, and handed it to Victoria. "The engagement is over," he said coldly. Paige gasped, tears finally streaming down her face as she realized her shallow world had completely collapsed. Victoria watched them leave, a quiet reminder to the world that true class is defined by how we treat those we think can do nothing for us.
