Previously: For years, Grace believed she would never walk again under her stepfather's strict control. But when a rugged stranger crashes a high-end gala, a shocking truth is finally brought to light.

The Hidden Medical Records

Lawrence spun around, his fingers digging hard into Grace’s shoulder as he tried to wheel her toward the exit. "Don't listen to this lunatic," Lawrence muttered frantically to the gathering crowd. "My stepdaughter suffered a terrible accident. She is paralyzed! Security, remove this intruder immediately!"

Two burly security guards moved toward Sean, but Sean stood his ground, reaching into his tan utility jacket. He pulled out a thick, sealed manila envelope and held it high for everyone to see.

"I have the real medical records from the Swiss clinic, Lawrence!" Sean shouted, his voice cutting through the panic. "The ones you paid millions to hide. Her spine healed three years ago. There is no physical reason she can't walk!"

The crowd erupted into shocked murmurs. Grace stared at the envelope, her breath catching in her throat. She looked up at Lawrence, whose face had gone completely pale. The powerful, untouchable man was suddenly sweating under the warm ballroom lights.

"He's lying! It's a forgery!" Lawrence screamed, but his voice lacked its usual confidence.
"You've been putting heavy muscle relaxants in her morning tea every single day," Sean continued, stepping closer despite the security guards hesitating. "You kept her weak and dependent so you could maintain sole control over her late father's multi-million-dollar trust fund. If she stands, you lose everything."

The revelation hung in the air like a heavy fog. Grace looked down at her legs. Today, because of her anxiety about the gala, she had skipped her morning tea. For the first time in years, her limbs didn't feel like lead. They felt warm. She looked at Sean, her eyes pleading for guidance. Sean gave her a gentle, encouraging nod.

"Grace, he can't hurt you anymore," Sean said softly. "Try."
