My Stepmother Banned Me From My Father's Estate—Then His Secret Will Changed Everything
The Gates of Oakridge Manor
The iron gates of Oakridge Manor had always represented security to Clara Vance, but today they felt like the bars of a prison. Her father, Arthur Vance, had passed away only a week prior, leaving behind a vast estate and a legacy of philanthropy. Yet, as Clara walked up the winding gravel driveway, she felt no peace. She knew that her stepmother, Evelyn, and her arrogant stepbrother, Julian, had spent years plotting to push her out of the family legacy.
As Clara reached the grand stone steps, the massive oak doors swung open. Evelyn stood there, draped in expensive black lace, her face devoid of any real grief. Beside her stood Julian, wearing a smug smirk that made Clara’s blood run cold. Behind them, two large security guards stood like statues, their presence an unspoken threat.

"Stop right there, Clara," Evelyn called out, her voice cutting through the autumn air. "You are not welcome on this property anymore."
Clara froze, her heart hammering against her ribs. "What are you talking about, Evelyn? This is my father’s house. I have every right to be here for the reading of the will."
Julian stepped forward, tossing a stapled document down the steps. It fluttered through the air and landed at Clara’s feet. "Not anymore, stepsister. Father signed a new will months ago. He left everything to us. You’ve been completely written out. You’re trespassing, and if you don't leave, we will have you forcibly removed."
Clara looked down at the document. The signature at the bottom was a shaky, distorted version of her father's name. She felt a wave of nausea. She knew her father would never abandon her. "This is a lie," she whispered, looking up at them with fierce determination. "You forced him to sign this, or you forged it entirely."
