Previously: When Chloe received a mysterious cream envelope from her stepmother Helen at her graduation, she thought it was a simple gift. But her father's sudden, furious arrival exposed a web of family lies.

The Confrontation

Richard marched into the elegant hall, his face contorted with rage. Behind him were two stern-looking men in dark suits, carrying leather briefcases. The celebratory chatter in the room died down instantly, replaced by a tense, suffocating silence. Richard locked his eyes on Chloe, ignoring the gasps of the distinguished guests.

"Hand over that envelope, Chloe!" Richard demanded, his voice booming through the banquet hall. "That money does not belong to you, and you have no right to touch it!"

Chloe instinctively clutched the cream envelope to her chest, stepping back. Helen immediately moved forward, placing herself between Chloe and the raging man. Helen's expression was calm, but her eyes were cold as steel.

"Richard, you are making a scene," Helen said, her voice quiet but carrying immense authority. "Leave this venue immediately before I have security throw you out."

Richard let out a harsh, mocking laugh, gesturing to his lawyers. "Security? I am the one who controls the assets here! You stole that money from our joint accounts, Helen. And as for Chloe, she is nothing but a fraud." He sneered, pointing a finger at Chloe. "She isn’t even my biological daughter. Her mother lied, and I’m not spending another dime of my hard-earned wealth on a stranger's child."

The revelation struck Chloe like a physical blow. She stared at the man she had called father her entire life, her world spinning. One of Richard's lawyers stepped forward, opening a folder. "Miss Chloe, if you do not return the transferred funds and the deed immediately, we will file charges of grand larceny against you and Mrs. Helen before the sun sets." Panic seized Chloe, but Helen simply stood her ground, reaching into her blazer to pull out a sleek, jet-black envelope.
