Previously: When her sister's dream wedding turns into a nightmare, Sarah must trust a handsome wedding coordinator to expose a dangerous con artist before it's too late.

A Leap of Faith

Sarah stared at the leather notebook in Marcus’s hand, her mind racing. The blackmail was ruthless, and for a second, she felt the urge to surrender. But as she looked at Andrew, who gave her a subtle, reassuring nod, she realized they couldn't back down. If they gave in now, Marcus would keep control over Emily forever. Suddenly, a voice echoed from the church doorway.

"Go ahead and publish it, Marcus."

Everyone turned. Emily stood there, her beautiful white wedding gown torn at the hem where she had ripped it to walk faster. Her eyes were puffy, but her posture was straight and defiant.

"My secrets might be embarrassing," Emily said, her voice growing stronger with every step she took toward them. "But they aren't illegal. Yours are. And I'd rather be embarrassed than married to a criminal."

Marcus’s face paled as Emily stepped up beside Sarah, locking arms with her sister. At that exact moment, the distant sound of police sirens began to wail, growing louder as they approached the church gates. Marcus panicked. He turned to his security guards, but the men, realizing the game was up, stepped away from him, refusing to get involved in a felony arrest.

Within minutes, two police cruisers pulled up onto the gravel path. Andrew handed the manila envelope directly to the lead officer, while Emily explained the blackmail attempt, handing over the diary Marcus had tried to use. As Marcus was led away in handcuffs, the heavy cloud of tension finally lifted. Eleanor, realizing her mistake, hugged both of her daughters, weeping and apologizing for her blindness.

Later, as the guests departed and the church grew quiet under the twilight sky, Sarah found Andrew sitting on the stone steps. She walked over and sat beside him, the plum gown pooling around her.

"I believe this belongs to you," Andrew smiled, holding up the slightly battered white lily bouquet.
"I think you should keep it," Sarah laughed softly, leaning her head against his shoulder. "After all, you're the one who saved the day."

Sometimes, the collapse of a perfect plan is exactly what is needed to build a beautiful, honest future.

The End
