Previously: Left starving and pregnant on the streets, Natalie thought she had lost everything. But a stranger's simple act of kindness was only the beginning of a life-changing confrontation.

The Threat at the Doorstep

Brian did not just buy Natalie a meal; he offered her a lifeline. Walking out to the patio, he introduced himself and listened intently as Natalie explained her desperate situation. Touched by her vulnerability, Brian revealed that he owned a small apartment building nearby with a vacant, fully furnished unit. He insisted she stay there, free of charge, until she could get back on her feet. For the first time in weeks, Natalie slept in a warm bed, feeling a glimmer of hope for her baby.

However, her newfound peace was shattered just two days later. As Natalie stepped outside the building to attend a prenatal doctor's appointment, a luxury sedan screeched to a halt in front of her. The door flew open, and out stepped Richard, her estranged husband, flanked by two high-priced corporate attorneys holding leather briefcases.

Richard’s face was twisted in a smug, malicious grin. "So, this is the slum you've crawled into," he sneered, looking at the modest apartment building. Natalie instinctively wrapped her arms around her stomach, backing away in fear.

One of the lawyers stepped forward, opening a folder. "Mrs. Vance, your husband is filing for sole custody of the child. We have documented evidence of your vagrancy, lack of income, and emotional instability. You are unfit to raise a child of the Vance family legacy."

"Sign these papers relinquishing your parental rights, Natalie, or we will destroy you in court,"

Richard threatened, thrusting a pen toward her. Trembling and crying, Natalie felt utterly defenseless. But before she could collapse under the pressure, a strong hand gripped Richard’s shoulder, pulling him back. Brian had appeared, his eyes flashing with fury as he stood protectively in front of Natalie.

"Get your hands off her, and get off my property,"

Brian commanded. Richard laughed mockingly. "And who are you? Her new charity case? You don't know who you're dealing with." Unfazed, Brian pulled a sleek business card from his pocket and handed it to Richard's lead attorney. The attorney took one look at the card, and the color instantly drained from his face.
