Previously: Julian thought he was celebrating his business success with his wife and best friend, but a shocking confession at dinner turns his entire world upside down.

A Sweet Revenge

Julian took a deep breath, adjusted his charcoal grey suit, and walked back into the penthouse elevator. When the doors opened, he marched straight back to the table where Luke and Chloe were already pouring a second bottle of champagne. They looked up, their faces twisting into expressions of annoyance and mockery.

"Still here, Julian?" Luke sneered, leaning back in his chair. "I thought we made it clear that you don't belong here anymore."

"I came back to give you some advice," Julian said calmly, leaning over the table. "You should call your lawyers. Right now." Chloe laughed, but the sound was hollower this time. "Why would we do that? We own everything."

"You own a shell company," Julian explained, a cold smile finally appearing on his face. "But you don't own the land rights. My grandfather's trust clause stipulates that any unauthorized transfer of company assets immediately voids all property deeds, reverting them back to my family's private trust. By signing that contract, you didn't steal my company. You took on eighty million dollars of development debt without any of the collateral."

The color drained from Luke’s face. He frantically pulled out his phone, his fingers trembling as he dialed his legal team. Within minutes, the panic on his face confirmed Julian's words. The assets were frozen, and because they had used fraudulent documents to bypass the family board, they were now facing federal bank fraud charges.

Chloe stood up, her gold dress suddenly looking cheap under the chandelier lights. She reached out to touch Julian's arm, her eyes filling with desperate tears.

"Julian, please... we can talk about this. I was confused. I love you."

Julian stepped back, letting her hand fall into the empty air.

"Save it for the judge, Chloe," he said quietly.

He turned his back on them and walked out of the restaurant, leaving them to face the consequences of their greed. True wealth wasn't just about money; it was about integrity, and Julian had finally reclaimed his life.

The End
