They Cornered Me for My Father's Debt, but They Didn't Know My Real Name
The Confrontation in the Shadows
The air in the basement corridor of the abandoned warehouse district was thick with the scent of rust, damp concrete, and impending danger. Flickering overhead fluorescent lights cast long, erratic shadows against the exposed pipes lining the walls. Elena stood motionless, her heart pounding a steady rhythm of anticipation rather than fear. She had known they were following her, but she had chosen to walk straight into their trap.
Suddenly, the heavy metal door behind her rattled. Out of the darkness stepped Marcus, a burly enforcer with a shaved head and a black tank top that showed off his heavily tattooed arms. Behind him, two buzz-cut henchmen leaned against a rusty staircase railing, their smirks visible even in the dim light. They looked at Elena as if she were nothing more than easy prey.

Marcus didn't waste time with pleasantries. In a flash, he lunged forward, pinning Elena against the cold metal door by her throat. His grip was tight, his knuckles white. He leaned in close, his voice a low, threatening growl.
"Your father's debt is now yours."
From the stairs, the henchmen burst into mocking laughter, enjoying the spectacle. But Elena didn't panic. She looked directly into Marcus's cold, dark eyes. Her face remained entirely calm, devoid of the terror he expected to see.
"Do you even know who I am?" she asked, her voice steady and defying.
Marcus's grin only widened, turning into a menacing sneer. The henchmen laughed louder, assuming she was trying to bluff her way out of a death sentence. But before Marcus could tighten his grip any further, Elena moved with blinding speed. With a sharp, practiced strike of her forearm, she broke his hold, slamming his arm away and stepping back into a perfect defensive stance.
Marcus stumbled back, a look of sheer disbelief crossing his face. The laughter on the stairs died instantly, replaced by a tense, heavy silence.
