They Laughed at My Father's Old Umbrella Until I Fired the Ultimate Shot
Previously: When Rachel brought a strange, bolt-action umbrella to a high-stakes desert shooting range, the instructors laughed. But her perfect double-tap target strike was just the beginning of a deadly family reckoning.
The silence under the pavilion was absolute, broken only by the whistling desert wind. The spectators who had been snickering moments ago now stood frozen, staring at the young woman in the charcoal hoodie. Rachel lowered the smoking bolt-action umbrella, her eyes locked onto Ben. The instructor's face had gone pale, his smug composure completely shattered.
The Confrontation
Ben stepped closer, his voice dropping to a tense whisper so the other shooters couldn't hear. He looked at the intricately machined bolt of the weapon, recognition finally dawning in his eyes.

"Where did you get that?" Ben demanded, his hands trembling slightly. "There was only one prototype ever built. Thomas was supposed to have destroyed it before he..."
"Before he died in prison for a crime you framed him for?" Rachel interrupted, her voice cutting like glass. "My father didn't destroy it, Ben. He hid it. And he left it for me."
Ben's eyes narrowed. The truth was out, but instead of showing remorse, his expression hardened into something ugly and dangerous. He had spent five years building his empire on stolen designs and lies, and he wasn't about to let a ghost from his past ruin him.
He slowly stepped back, gesturing to three heavily armed security guards stationed at the edge of the range. They immediately drew their weapons, moving to encircle Rachel under the wooden pavilion.
"You're a clever girl, Rachel," Ben sneered, his confidence returning as his men surrounded her. "But you're also foolish. You walked right into my territory. Out here in the desert, people disappear all the time. Nobody is going to find you."
The spectators quickly backed away, realizing that this was no longer a friendly shooting demonstration. Rachel was completely outnumbered, with three loaded pistols pointed directly at her. Yet, she didn't flinch. She kept her grip tight on her father's custom rifle, her finger resting lightly against the trigger guard.
"I knew you'd try this, Ben," Rachel said, a cold smile playing on her lips. "That's why I didn't come alone."
