Diana looked at Marie through the open window, her expression a mix of anger and sudden hesitation.

"Get in the car, Marie,"

she commanded, though her voice lacked the icy venom from before.

"I saw the security feed again, and something didn't make sense. You've never once lied to me."

Marie didn't hesitate. She climbed into the warm leather back seat, holding Emma tight. Instead of defending herself verbally, Marie simply handed the plastic toy camera to Diana.

"Please, Mrs. Sterling. Just watch this. Emma's toy recorded what happened right before you called me in."

Diana frowned, pressing play. As Andrew's voice filled the quiet car, admitting to the theft and the frame-job to pay off his gambling debts, Diana's face drained of all color. Her hands shook so violently she almost dropped the toy. The realization that her own husband and her trusted butler had conspired to rob her and ruin an innocent mother's life shattered her world.

Tears of betrayal welled in Diana's eyes. She turned to Marie, her voice trembling.

"I am so incredibly sorry, Marie. How could I have been so blind?"

Diana immediately ordered her driver to head back to the mansion while she dialed the police.

When they arrived, Andrew and Thomas were already packing their bags, preparing to flee. Instead, they were met by flashing blue lights. Both men were arrested on the spot for theft and conspiracy. Diana kept her word; she publicly cleared Marie's name and fired the entire corrupt staff. Marie was promoted to estate manager, receiving a handsome salary and a beautiful cottage on the property for herself and Emma.
