Previously: When Patrick pushed his wife Audrey to the limit in their luxurious mansion, he thought his wealth made him untouchable. He had no idea who she really called.

The Power Shifts

The silence in the dining room was deafening. Patrick’s hand hovered near his lapel, his arrogant smile twitching into a mask of confusion. He looked at Harrison, the head of the security detail, expecting immediate action. Instead, Harrison stepped forward and handed Audrey a sleek leather folder, completely ignoring Patrick's presence.

"What is the meaning of this?" Patrick demanded, his voice echoing off the high ceilings. "I pay your agency's retainer! I want this woman removed from my property immediately!"

Audrey took the folder, her fingers steady despite the adrenaline coursing through her veins. She opened it, revealing financial audits, offshore bank records, and the deed to the very mansion they stood in. For years, Patrick had convinced her that she was penniless, relying entirely on his wealth. But Audrey's late father had been a silent partner in Patrick's firm, and his will had left the controlling shares and the estate to Audrey, held in a trust until her thirtieth birthday—which was today.

"You never paid their retainer, Patrick," Audrey said, her voice calm and clear. "My father's trust funded this security firm. They answer to the true owner of Sterling Enterprises. And that owner is me."

Patrick's face drained of color. He looked from Audrey to the guards, realizing the terrifying truth. The security team he had relied on to keep Audrey isolated was actually her personal shield. He tried to lunge forward, his polished facade cracking into desperate rage, but two guards instantly blocked his path, their expressions grim and unyielding.

Harrison stepped forward, holding a tablet displaying a live feed of the local police precinct. "Mr. Sterling, the silent alarm has already alerted the authorities. We have documented the physical assault from tonight, as well as the years of financial embezzlement from your wife's trust. Your reign in this house is officially over."
