My Wedding Was Interrupted by My Ex and Two Girls Who Look Just Like Me
Previously: On the happiest day of David's life, his ex-girlfriend Elise crashed the ceremony with two little girls in dusty pink, revealing a secret that would shatter his new marriage forever.
The Crumbling Dream
The world seemed to spin on its axis. Sarah rushed forward, her hands shaking as she grabbed my arm. "David, tell me this is a joke!" she cried, her voice rising in panic. "Tell me she’s lying!" But I couldn't speak. The math made perfect sense. Elise and I had broken up four years ago, right before she disappeared from the city without a trace. I had spent months searching for her, only to eventually give up and rebuild my life.
Elise ignored Sarah's outbursts, keeping her eyes locked onto mine. "They are yours, David. I found out I was pregnant right after we parted ways. I was scared, and I wanted to raise them alone," she explained, her voice trembling slightly. I stared at the two little girls, who were now clinging to their mother's scarlet skirt, looking at me with wide, curious eyes.

"Why now, Elise?"I asked, my voice cracking under the weight of the revelation.
"Why wait until my wedding day to tell me this?"
With a trembling hand, Elise reached into her clutch and pulled out a folded piece of paper. She handed it to me. I unfolded it, my eyes scanning the medical letterhead. It was a diagnostic report from an oncology center. Elise was suffering from an aggressive, terminal illness. She had less than six months to live.
"I didn't want to disrupt your life,"Elise whispered, a tear finally escaping her eye.
"But I am dying, David. They have no one else. They need their father."
Before I could process the devastating news, Sarah snatched the paper from my hands. She read it quickly, her face turning pale. But instead of sympathy, her eyes hardened with cold fury. "I don't care about her problems," Sarah hissed, looking at me. "We are getting married today, David. We are starting our own family. You cannot bring these children into our lives. Send them away!"
