Previously: When Ashley and Ryan tied the knot in their wheelchairs, they thought their painful pasts were behind them. But an unexpected guest arrived to reveal a shocking secret.

A Shocking Interruption

The celebratory applause had barely subsided when the heavy oak doors at the back of the cathedral slammed open with a deafening boom. The sudden noise echoed off the high stone walls, causing the wedding guests to turn around in shock. Standing at the entrance was Caleb, Ashley’s wealthy ex-fiancé, wearing a smug, triumphant grin. He was not alone; two uniformed police officers stood closely behind him.

Caleb marched down the aisle, his eyes locked onto the newlyweds.

“Stop this wedding immediately!”
he shouted, his voice dripping with malice. Ashley’s father stood up to intervene, but the officers quickly blocked his path. Ashley felt a cold knot of dread tighten in her stomach as she stared at the man who had abandoned her in her darkest hour.

Stopping at the altar, Caleb threw a thick manila folder onto the sacred table.

“Ashley, you are marrying a fraud,”
Caleb sneered, pointing a finger at Ryan.
“The man you think is your savior is actually the drunk driver who hit our car three years ago. It is all right here in the official police reports. He ruined your life, and then he hunted you down in rehab to ease his own guilt.”

A collective gasp rippled through the congregation. Ashley turned to Ryan, desperate for him to deny the horrific accusation. But Ryan’s face had gone completely pale. He stared down at his lap, tears streaming silently down his cheeks. He didn't say a word to defend himself. Ashley felt her heart shatter into a million pieces. Was her entire romance built on a monstrous lie? Caleb signaled the officers to arrest Ryan. But just as they stepped forward, Ryan slowly raised his head, a cold, sharp focus returning to his eyes. He reached into his suit jacket and pulled out a small black voice recorder, looking directly at Caleb.
