A Pregnant Woman Is Attacked in the Hospital While Her Cold Husband Just Watches
The sterile, fluorescent-lit hallway of Saint Jude’s Maternity Ward was usually a place of quiet anticipation and joy. But today, it transformed into a theater of raw terror. Megan, thirty-eight weeks pregnant and dressed in a pale pink hospital gown, collapsed onto the cold linoleum floor. She clutched her swollen abdomen, tears streaming down her pale cheeks as a sharp contraction ripped through her body. But physical pain was the least of her worries.
Standing over her was Heather, a woman clad in a striking emerald green dress, her face contorted with unbridled fury. With a feral scream, Heather lunged forward, her clawed hands aiming directly for Megan.
"You don't deserve this child! It was supposed to be mine!" Heather shrieked.
Before Heather’s fingers could make contact, a white-coated figure intercepted the attack. Dr. Carter, a senior obstetrician with decades of experience, stepped in front of the defenseless mother. The older doctor grunted in pain as Heather’s wild strikes hit his arms, but he stood his ground. With a sudden burst of protective strength, Dr. Carter grabbed Heather by the wrists and forcefully flung her away. She crashed to the floor, panting and glaring up at him.
Throughout the entire chaotic struggle, Julian, Megan’s husband, stood leaning against the wall in a tailored charcoal grey suit. His hands were casually tucked into his pockets, and his expression was chillingly calm. He didn't move a muscle to protect his pregnant wife.
Nearby, nurses stood frozen in shock, their hands over their mouths. Megan wept hysterically on the floor, clinging to Dr. Carter’s leg as the brave doctor stood over her like a human shield, breathing heavily but refusing to back down. The tension in the hallway was thick enough to cut with a knife.
