As the immediate danger subsided, Julian finally stepped forward, his leather shoes clicking softly against the floor. He looked down at Megan not with concern, but with cold disdain. He adjusted his silk tie and spoke in a low, calculated voice that made the nurses shudder.

"Let’s not make a scene, Doctor," Julian said smoothly. "My wife is emotionally unstable. Heather was simply trying to restrain her. We are taking the baby as soon as it's born, as per our private agreement."
