A Rough Biker Defends A Shoved Teenager And Uncovers A Haunting Family Secret
The Confrontation in the Rain
The autumn rain had turned the school courtyard into a bleak, desolate stretch of wet asphalt and cold brick. Seventeen-year-old Cole clutched his damp grey pullover hoodie tighter around himself, trying to blend into the shadows of the brick wall. But Chase, wearing his bright maroon varsity jacket like armor, had already spotted him. With a cruel smirk, Chase stepped into Cole's path, blocking the exit. Before Cole could utter a word of protest, Chase lunged forward, shoving him hard. Cole lost his footing, crashing onto the wet asphalt, his palms scraping against the grit as his backpack spilled open beside him.
Chase laughed, kicking Cole's fallen history textbook into a puddle. "What's the matter, Cole? Forgot how to stand up for yourself?" Chase sneered, reaching down to grab the vintage silver watch that had slipped from Cole's pocket—a watch that belonged to Cole's late mother.
Suddenly, the low, thundering roar of an engine echoed through the courtyard. A silver cruiser motorcycle cut through the gray mist, its headlights cutting through the gloom. The rider, a rugged, bearded man with long dark hair named Marcus, pulled up right beside them. He killed the engine, the silence that followed heavier than the rain. Marcus stared sternly at Chase, his gaze cold and unyielding.
"Back off, loser,"
Marcus said, his voice deep and vibrating with authority. Chase froze, his hand still hovering over the silver watch on the ground. Marcus stepped off the heavy bike, his boots splashing in the puddles. He pointed directly at the watch in Chase's hand.
"That's enough, hand it back,"
Marcus demanded, taking another step forward. Chase hesitated, looking at the massive biker, his bravado quickly evaporating.
"Now,"
Marcus firmly commanded.
