My Husband Protected Me From His Violent Ex, But the Nurse Knew the Ultimate Truth
A Nightmare in the Hospital Hallway
The sterile smell of antiseptic and the harsh glare of fluorescent lights did nothing to calm Clara’s racing heart. Clad in a soft peach-colored maternity dress, she had only wanted a peaceful routine checkup for her seven-month pregnancy. Instead, she found herself trapped in a living nightmare, huddled on the cold linoleum floor of the clinic hallway.
Standing over her was Brenda, her husband Julian's bitter ex-wife, dressed in a striking maroon dress that seemed to match the fiery rage in her eyes. Without warning, Brenda lunged forward, her heel striking close to Clara's protective hands. Clara shrieked, curling into a ball to shield her stomach.
"You deserve this!" Brenda screamed, her voice echoing off the clinical walls.
"No, please!" Clara sobbed, tears streaming down her pale cheeks. "Think of the baby!"
Julian, sharp in his dark blue blazer, had been speaking with the receptionist just moments before. Hearing the commotion, he spun around, his face turning pale with horror. Beside him, a nurse in light blue scrubs gasped, her hands flying to her mouth in absolute shock. Julian didn't hesitate. He sprinted across the polished floor, his boots squeaking against the tile.
"Stop, what are you doing? Get back!" Julian roared, throwing his arms around Brenda to pull her away from his trembling wife.
Brenda thrashed against his grip, spitting venomous words, but Julian’s strength prevailed. He shoved her back toward the security desk and immediately dropped to his knees. His expensive blazer ignored the dirt on the floor as he pulled Clara into his arms, cradling her shaking shoulders. He whispered soothing words, but the terror in the room was far from over. The real storm was just beginning to brew.
