Previously: When Julian's unstable ex-wife Brenda attacked a pregnant Clara in the hospital lobby, Julian stepped in to save her. But a silent nurse held a secret that would redefine their family forever.

The Poison of a Bitter Lie

Security guards rushed into the corridor, swiftly pinning Brenda’s arms behind her back. Even as she was restrained, her face twisted in a mask of pure malice. She glared at Clara, who was still clutching her belly in Julian's protective embrace.

"You think you've won, Julian?" Brenda spat, a hysterical laugh escaping her lips. "She’s a liar! She’s playing you! Ask her about the clinic files from three years ago. She can't even have children! That baby isn't yours!"

The hallway fell into a tense, suffocating silence. Clara looked up at Julian, her eyes wide with fear, not because she was guilty, but because she knew how deeply Brenda’s past manipulations had scarred their marriage. Years ago, a mysterious medical report had claimed Clara was infertile, nearly tearing them apart before they finally conceived naturally.

Julian stared at Brenda, his jaw clenched, torn between anger and a sudden, painful memory. But before he could speak, the nurse in the light blue scrubs stepped forward, her eyes locked onto Brenda’s face. The nurse’s name tag read Sarah, and her expression had hardened from shock into cold recognition.

"Hold on," Nurse Sarah said, her voice steady and carrying an unexpected authority. "I know you. You’re Brenda Vance."

Brenda’s frantic thrashing suddenly ceased. A flicker of panic crossed her eyes, replacing the manic anger.

"I used to work at the St. Jude Women's Clinic," Nurse Sarah continued, stepping closer. "Three years ago, you paid a corrupt laboratory technician to swap Clara’s records with an infertile patient's file. I was the whistleblower who reported that technician, but we never found the woman who bribed him—until now."

Julian’s breath hitched in his throat. The piece of the puzzle that had tortured their family for years was finally falling into place.
