The polished marble floor of the Grand Plaza condominium reflected the glittering light of the contemporary crystal chandeliers hanging high above. Jonathan, dressed in a tailored navy blazer, walked with a purposeful stride, his mind consumed by business figures. But his steps slowed when he noticed a young boy sitting on one of the plush lobby chairs. Lucas, wearing a simple black zip-up hoodie, looked up. His eyes locked onto the gleaming silver watch resting on Jonathan’s wrist.

"You have a watch like my father's,"

Lucas said, his voice small but clear in the quiet, echoing lobby. Jonathan stopped. He looked at the boy, then down at his own wrist. The silver watch was a rare vintage piece, a constant reminder of where he had come from. Kneeling down on the cold marble to meet the boy at eye level, Jonathan asked gently,

"What's your dad's name?"

Lucas replied, his eyes shining with a mixture of innocence and sadness,

"Scott."

The name hit Jonathan like a physical blow. Memories came rushing back—of cold winter nights, of a friend who had shared his last loaf of bread, of a man who had sacrificed his own dreams so Jonathan could build his empire. Without another word, Jonathan pulled Lucas into a warm, tight embrace. He felt the boy's small shoulders relax against him. Reaching down, Jonathan unclasped the heavy silver watch and pressed it into Lucas’s small hands.

"Keep this watch,"

Jonathan whispered, his voice trembling with unshed tears.

"Your father... he saved me when I had nothing."

Lucas stared at the heavy timepiece, tracing the polished metal with his fingers, completely unaware of the massive storm of emotions he had just unleashed in the wealthy businessman's heart.
