The rain fell in relentless sheets, drumming against the concrete patio with a deafening roar. Six-year-old Caleb stood shivering, his thin Spider-Man costume soaked through and clinging to his small frame. Tears mixed with the cold rainwater streaming down his cheeks as he pounded his tiny fists against the heavy sliding glass door. "Daddy! Daddy!" he sobbed, his voice swallowed by the howling wind. The house inside was dimly lit, silent, and completely locked.

Suddenly, headlights cut through the dark driveway. Daniel, returning early from his late-night shift, slammed the car door and ran toward the back patio. His heart stopped when he saw the small, trembling figure. "Caleb!" he screamed, sprinting across the wet grass. Daniel, a rugged man of thirty-three wearing a black leather field jacket, didn't hesitate. He stripped off his heavy coat, wrapped it tightly around his shivering son, and pulled him close to his chest. Caleb's lips were blue, his body shaking uncontrollably.

Daniel tried the door handle. Locked. He knocked violently, but there was no response. Driven by sheer adrenaline and maternal protection, Daniel shielded Caleb with his body and threw his shoulder into the glass door. With a shattering crash, the glass gave way, showering the entryway. Daniel stepped over the shards, his boots squeaking on the hardwood floor.

Carrying Caleb, he ran frantically up the wooden staircase, his mind racing with terror and fury. The house was eerie, smelling of cheap perfume and expensive cologne. He reached the master bedroom, the door slightly ajar. Daniel kicked it open with a resounding bang, revealing a scene that shattered what was left of his heart. His wife, Vanessa, was in bed, wrapped in the sheets with another man. Daniel's face contorted with pure, unbridled rage.

"You locked him out!" Daniel roared, his voice trembling with anger. "He was freezing to death, Vanessa!"
