My Husband Attacked Me in the Delivery Room, But His Father Saved My Baby
The sterile smell of antiseptic did nothing to calm the violent beating of Clara’s heart. Clutched tightly against her chest was her newborn daughter, Lily, a tiny miracle with a tuft of red hair just like her mother’s. But there was no time to celebrate. The heavy double doors of the delivery room flew open, and Julian stormed in. His expensive grey suit was wrinkled, his face contorted in a mask of pure, unbridled fury. He didn't look like a proud new father; he looked like a predator.
"Take that, you!"
Julian snarled, lunging across the cold linoleum floor. He raised his arm aggressively, aiming a sharp blow toward Clara and the fragile bundle in her arms.
"Please stop!"
Clara screamed, shrinking back into the thin pillows of the hospital bed, tears streaming down her pale cheeks. She shielded Lily with her body, bracing for the impact. But the blow never landed. Before Julian’s fist could reach her, the door swung open again. Arthur, a tall, distinguished man of fifty-six with iron-grey hair and a tailored black suit, rushed into the room. With a speed that defied his age, Arthur grabbed Julian by his collar and shoved him violently backward.
"Get away from her!"
Arthur roared, his voice shaking the very walls of the sterile room. Julian stumbled back toward the door frame, his eyes wide with shock and anger. He glared at Arthur, his own father, but Arthur stood like an immovable brick wall between the abuser and the weeping young mother. In the background, Nurse Sarah stood frozen in absolute shock, her hand hovering over the emergency call button. Arthur turned his gaze back to Clara, his expression softening instantly.
"It's okay, I've got you,"
he whispered, his voice a comforting shield against the terror. Clara sobbed, clutching Lily tighter, wondering how a moment of pure joy had turned into a nightmare.
