"Harder, more, mommy!" Chloe demanded, her voice dripping with condescension. "You’re barely even scrubbing. I’ve been on my feet all day!"

Martha didn't protest. She simply bowed her head lower, her shoulders trembling slightly under the weight of her daughter's relentless demands.
