My Boss Was Declared Dead but Her Warm Hands Forced Me to Do the Unthinkable
The Unthinkable Interruption
The atmosphere inside the spacious funeral home parlor was thick with grief and the heavy scent of lilies. Soft, muted lights illuminated the pristine white wooden coffin resting on ornate metal stands. Friends and family sat in silent mourning, dressed in black, listening to the soft murmur of the minister. But the solemnity was shattered when the heavy double doors burst open.
Mia, a twenty-three-year-old maid wearing her bright purple uniform and a white apron, stood in the doorway. Her light blonde hair was tied back in a messy ponytail, and her hands trembled violently as she gripped a heavy, weathered wood-chopping axe. The crowd gasped in horror as she marched down the aisle, her eyes wide with a desperate, terrifying determination.
Before anyone could stop her, Mia swung the axe. The heavy blade sliced through the air and slammed into the white wooden coffin lid with a sickening, splintering crash. Wood flew in every direction.
"Stop the funeral, she's not dead!" Mia screamed desperately, tears streaming down her pale cheeks. She raised the axe again, her chest heaving.
Arthur, a sixty-three-year-old man with thick grey hair, rushed forward from the front pew. Dressed in a flawless black formal suit, his face contorted with a mixture of rage and terror. "Have you lost your mind?!" he yelled, his voice echoing off the high parlor ceiling.
"I heard her! I heard her crying!"Mia tearfully pleaded, refusing to back down. She pointed a trembling finger at the shattered hole in the coffin lid. As if on cue, the entire room fell into a breathless silence. From the dark depths of the broken casket, a faint, muffled female voice whispered, "No... don't do this to me..."
Mia gasped, turning to the shocked onlookers.
"I washed her hair this morning, her hands were warm!"she insisted, her voice crackling with emotion.
Arthur looked around in sudden, wild panic, his composed facade instantly crumbling.
"Did you hear that?"he asked, his voice suddenly hollow. Eleanor, a seventy-two-year-old woman with her white hair pinned in a neat bun, stepped forward. Her hand trembled as she touched the splintered wood, gasping, "My God... Emma?"
