"How can my daughter ever want someone like you?" Marcus sneered, stepping aggressively into Leo's personal space. "I will never allow her to marry a man like you."
Just moments before, Marcus had let his anger get the better of him, striking Leo across the face. An angry red welt was already rising on the young mechanic’s neck. Robert’s eyes immediately locked onto the swelling welt on Leo's neck. His face hardened.
"Who did this?" Robert demanded, his voice echoing off the metal rafters.
Leo didn't hesitate. He raised a hand and pointed directly at Marcus. "He did," Leo said quietly.
Robert turned his fierce glare toward Marcus.
"You hit my son?" Robert asked, his tone dropping to a dangerous register.
Marcus, still clinging to his smug sense of superiority, simply smiled. He had no idea who he was dealing with. Robert stepped closer, his eyes cold as ice. "You just made the biggest mistake of your life."
