Previously: When wealthy Marcus assaulted a humble mechanic to keep him away from his daughter, he had no idea the boy's father was the most powerful man in the city.

Marcus let out a dry, mocking chuckle, adjusting his aviator sunglasses as if to dismiss the older man's warning. "Your son?" Marcus scoffed, waving a hand dismissively. "If this grease monkey is your son, then you should have taught him some manners. He has been sniffing around my daughter, Clara, trying to climb a social ladder he has no business even looking at. My daughter deserves a gentleman of high standing, not someone who spends his days covered in engine oil."

The Tables Turn

Robert didn't flinch. He didn't raise his voice. Instead, he slowly reached into his breast pocket, pulled out a sleek smartphone, and dialed a number. He kept his cold, unwavering gaze fixed on Marcus the entire time.

"Cancel the Vanguard acquisition," Robert said calmly into the phone. "And pull all our capital investments from Vance Logistics. Effective immediately."

Marcus’s smug smile instantly froze. The color drained from his face, leaving him pale under the harsh garage lights. Vance Logistics was his company, and it was currently teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. The only thing keeping his entire life's work afloat was a massive, highly anticipated multi-million-dollar cash injection from Vanguard Holdings.

"Wait..." Marcus stammered, his voice suddenly trembling. "Vanguard? Who... who are you?"
"My name is Robert Sterling," the older man replied, slipping his phone back into his pocket. "I am the founder of Sterling Enterprises, and the majority shareholder of Vanguard Holdings. And the young man you just assaulted is my only son and heir."

Marcus felt the ground crumble beneath his feet. He had just struck the sole heir to one of the most powerful financial empires in the country.

"Leo chose to work here under an alias to learn the business from the ground up," Robert continued, his voice cutting like a knife. "He wanted to prove he could build something on his own. But you decided to treat him like garbage because of the clothes he wears."
