The crystal chandeliers of the Grand Regent ballroom caught the light, casting a warm, golden glow over the city's elite. It was Clara’s twenty-fourth birthday, a night of champagne and classical music, but for Clara, it was just another gilded cage. Bound to her wheelchair since a devastating accident five years ago, she watched the dancers with quiet longing. Her father, Arthur, stood beside her, clad in a charcoal designer suit, greeting guests with a polished, superficial smile.

Suddenly, the heavy double doors of the ballroom swung open. The music faltered. A man stepped into the room, looking entirely out of place among the tuxedos and silk gowns. It was Thomas. His dark, wavy hair was disheveled, and his grease-stained jacket spoke of long hours in a mechanic’s workshop. Yet, his eyes held an intense, unshakable resolve.

He marched straight past the security guards, his gaze locked on Clara.

"Let me dance with her," Thomas demanded, his voice ringing clearly over the hushed crowd.

Arthur stepped forward, his face contorting with disgust as he blocked Thomas's path.

"Do you even know who she is, filthy beggar?" Arthur sneered, looking down his nose at the intruder.

Thomas didn't flinch. He looked past the older man, locking eyes with Clara, whose breath caught in her throat.

"I know she wants to dance, and I will make it happen," Thomas asserted.

Arthur’s face flushed red with anger. He gestured for the security guards to close in.

"Why should I let you get near my daughter?" Arthur hissed.

Thomas stepped closer, his presence radiating an undeniable power that made the guards hesitate.

"Because I can make her stand," Thomas replied with absolute conviction.

Before anyone could stop him, Thomas bypassed Arthur and knelt directly before Clara. The ballroom fell dead silent. He gently placed his hand near her collarbone, looking deep into her tear-filled eyes.

"In the name of Jesus, come, rise," he commanded softly.
