The autumn wind swept cold across the busy city sidewalk, but the chill Frank felt had nothing to do with the weather. For thirty years, he had lived a quiet, humble life, wearing his faded green military jacket and a brown camo cap. He was a veteran who had sacrificed his youth for his country, yet today, he stood outside the towering glass offices of Vanguard Pension Services, feeling completely invisible. To the bustling crowds of executives and lawyers, he was just an obstacle to walk around.

A Brutal Confrontation

Suddenly, the heavy glass doors swung open, and Edward stepped out. Edward was a junior partner at the firm, a young man who wore his tailored black business suit like armor. He held a wooden clipboard tightly under his arm, his eyes scanning the street with palpable disdain. Frank stepped forward, his voice trembling but polite. "Edward, please. I just need five minutes. My pension checks... they stopped coming three months ago. I can't pay my rent."

Edward didn't even pause. With a sneer of pure disgust, he lunged forward and shoved Frank against the rough brick facade of the building. The unexpected force knocked the elderly veteran off balance. As Frank stumbled, a shiny gold challenge coin slipped from his pocket, hitting the concrete with a sharp ring before rolling toward the curb.

Edward stepped forward, his polished black dress shoe stopping mere inches from the rolling coin. He looked down at Frank, his face twisted in a cruel smirk.

"Your pension has disappeared, old man," Edward whispered, tapping his wooden clipboard. "Someone like you no longer needs documents."

Frank felt a mixture of anger and sorrow, but as he looked past the arrogant young executive, he noticed something happening on the street. A fleet of sleek, black SUVs with tinted windows was suddenly swerving toward the curb. Frank looked back at the man who had just humiliated him. "Son, you'd better look toward the road," Frank said softly.

Before Edward could mock him, the screech of heavy tires echoed through the concrete canyon. The doors of the lead SUV flew open, and out stepped General Davis, a highly decorated officer in a dark green dress uniform. His eyes locked onto the scene, and his voice boomed across the sidewalk: "Pick it up."
