Previously: When a corrupt corporate agent tried to steal an elderly veteran's pension and threw him to the ground, he had no idea who was watching from the shadows.

Justice Restored

General Davis smiled, but there was no warmth in it. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded document bearing the seal of the Department of Justice. "Actually, Richard, I do. The federal government has been tracking your offshore transactions for six months. We just needed the physical ledger to prove where the diverted veteran funds were being routed. And your nephew just handed it to us," the General said, gesturing to the clipboard.

Right on cue, two unmarked federal sedans pulled up behind the black SUVs, sirens briefly wailing. Federal agents stepped out, badges shining in the sunlight. Richard Vance’s arrogant expression instantly shattered into panic. He looked at Edward, who was already sobbing, realizing that his loyalty to his uncle had just earned him a federal prison sentence.

As the agents handcuffed both Richard and Edward, General Davis turned back to Frank.

"Your pension has been fully restored, Frank. Not only that, but the Department of Veterans Affairs is fast-tracking your full retirement package, including back pay for every single month they stole from you. You will never have to worry about rent again."

Frank felt tears welling in his eyes as he looked at his gold challenge coin, now safely back in his hand. He had spent months feeling forgotten and discarded by the very society he had bled to protect. But standing there on the bustling city sidewalk, surrounded by the men who still honored the oath they took, he realized he was never truly alone.

The moral of this story is simple yet profound: those who sacrifice their lives to protect our freedom should never have to fight for their dignity at home. True honor cannot be bought, sold, or stolen by greedy men in expensive suits.
