A Forgotten Mother Crashes Her Son's Wedding to Save a Child from Cruelty
Previously: When a homeless woman in a stained green coat disrupted a high-society wedding, she was instantly attacked. But the truth behind her presence—and a little boy's shocking defense—exposed a dark family secret.
The Secret in the Green Coat
As security rushed forward to grab Toby, Leo stepped in, his voice trembling but firm.
"Don't touch him!" Leo commanded, stepping between his aunt Victoria and his son.
Victoria, clutching her bruised shoulder and picking sequins off her ruined dress, glared at Leo.
"That brat belongs in a cage, just like this garbage woman!" she spat, pointing at the sobbing woman in the olive-green coat. "Get her out of my sight before I call the police!"
But Leo didn't look at Victoria. Instead, he slowly knelt in front of the dirty woman. He reached out, his hand shaking, and gently brushed a matted lock of hair from her face. Tear tracks had cleared paths through the grime on her cheeks.
"Mom?" Leo whispered, his voice cracking.
A collective gasp echoed through the manor hall. Evelyn, the bride, clutched her bouquet so tightly the stems snapped.
"Leo, what are you saying?" Evelyn asked, her face pale. "Your aunt Victoria told us your mother died in an asylum ten years ago."
The woman in the green coat, Clara, looked up with hollow, sorrowful eyes.
"I didn't die, Leo," Clara sobbed, her voice raspy. "She put me there. She forged the papers, took your grandfather's inheritance, and when I finally escaped, she made sure I had nothing. I've been living on the streets, trying to find you."
Victoria’s face drained of color. She tried to laugh it off, claiming Clara was a delusional imposter, but the sheer terror in her eyes betrayed her. Toby, still standing guard like a miniature bodyguard, pointed a finger at Victoria.
"She's lying, Daddy!" Toby yelled. "I saw Aunt Victoria pay a man in the lobby to keep this lady outside! She knew she was coming!"
The pieces of a decade-long puzzle were falling into place, and the wealthy guests began to look at Victoria with newfound horror.
