Instead of throwing a punch, Ethan did something that completely caught Derek off guard. He looked down at his dripping laptop, then back up at Derek with a calm, pitying smile. The crowd expected a physical brawl, but Ethan knew that fists would never heal the deep wounds Derek’s family had inflicted on his own. He reached down and carefully tapped a few keys on the sticky keyboard before the screen flickered and died.

“You think you just ruined a school project, Derek,” Ethan said, his voice carrying across the silent cafeteria. “But you just sealed your own family's fate.”

Derek laughed nervously, looking around at his friends for backup. “What are you talking about, loser? It's a cheap piece of junk. My dad can buy ten of those.”

“I know he can,” Ethan replied coldly. “With the money he stole from my father. Your dad's construction company didn't grow overnight. He framed my dad for embezzlement five years ago, ruining his reputation and sending him to prison, all to hide his own massive tax fraud.”

The cafeteria gasped. Derek’s face flushed red with anger and embarrassment. He lunged forward, grabbing Ethan's collar. “You're a liar! My dad is a respected businessman!”

“He was,” Ethan whispered, gently removing Derek's hands from his hoodie. “But this laptop belonged to my dad. It contained the original, encrypted financial ledgers from the firm. I've spent the last three years trying to decrypt them. And just five minutes ago, right before you poured that soda, the decryption finished. The files were automatically uploaded to a secure cloud server, and a copy was sent directly to the federal prosecutor's office.”
