Previously: When arrogant heir Alex mocked a waitress with a $50,000 bet to dance, he didn't expect her to accept—or that she was the long-lost heiress of the entire estate.

The True Heiress

Julian Vance walked slowly toward Sarah, ignoring the whispers of the high-society guests. He stopped just inches away, his hands trembling as he reached out toward her necklace.

"This necklace... and those eyes,"
Julian whispered, his voice cracking with emotion.
"You are Margaret's daughter, aren't you?"
Sarah nodded slowly, tears welling in her eyes.
"Yes, sir. Margaret was my mother,"
she replied softly.

Julian turned to the stunned crowd, his voice booming with authority.

"Everyone, this is Sarah. She is my granddaughter, the child of my late daughter Margaret. I have searched for her for years, and tonight, she has finally come home. She is the sole heir to the Vance estate and fortune."
A collective gasp echoed through the ballroom. Chloe looked as if she might faint, while Alex turned pale, realizing the magnitude of his mistake.

Alex tried to salvage the situation, stepping forward with a nervous smile.

"Julian, sir, it was all just a harmless joke. I was actually helping her show off her talent!"
he stammered. Julian glared at him with cold fury.
"I saw how you treated my granddaughter, Alex. Your father's company relies entirely on my investment. Consider that partnership terminated as of tonight,"
Julian declared coldly.

Sarah looked at the ruined heir, who was now staring at his own downfall. She took the fifty-thousand-dollar check from his pocket and handed it back to him.

"Keep your money, Alex. You're going to need it more than I do,"
she said with quiet dignity. No matter how much wealth people possess, true class can never be bought, and those who attempt to humiliate others will always find themselves humbled in the end.
