Previously: A spoiled heir's cruel taunts turn violent against a broke student. But when the student's imposing father steps in, the tables turn with devastating consequences.

The Father's Fury

As Arthur lay on the damp, splintered floorboards, the weight of Jason Vance’s cruelty pressed down on him. The torn pages of his textbooks floated in the murky puddle, a symbol of his shattered dreams. The burning on his cheek was nothing compared to the searing humiliation. He clenched his jaw, fighting back the sobs that threatened to erupt. Jason, a vision of arrogant indifference, merely admired his own reflection in the polished toe of his boot. The world seemed to tilt, the dim tavern lights swimming before Arthur’s eyes. He felt utterly insignificant, a piece of refuse to be swept away.

Suddenly, the ground seemed to vibrate. Heavy, deliberate footsteps echoed, cutting through the tavern's low murmur. A shadow fell over Jason, eclipsing the already weak light. Arthur’s breath hitched. He looked up, his vision clearing slightly, to see a towering figure emerge from the gloom. Steel-toed combat boots, scuffed and battle-worn, splashed into the amber puddle near Jason's expensive shoes. The camera tilted up, revealing Salvatore Moretti, Arthur’s father. He was a force of nature, a granite-jawed ex-Marine whose weathered olive skin bore the marks of a hard life, including a stark scar across his temple. His eyes, burning with lethal veteran focus, locked onto Jason. The arrogant heir spun around, his smug smirk freezing into a mask of uneasy confusion.

“Take your hands off my son.”

Salvatore’s voice was a low, gravelly baritone, a promise of violence barely contained. Jason, caught off guard by the sheer imposing presence of the older man, instinctively recoiled. But Salvatore wasn't finished. With explosive military precision, he stepped forward. His hips torqued, unleashing a thunderous, lightning-fast open-palm strike that connected squarely with Jason's sternum. The air exploded with a deafening concussive boom. Fabric tore, and Jason’s chest buckled inward. His eyes bulged in agonizing shock as the sheer kinetic force of the blow sent his entire body flying backward through the air, his expensive cashmere coat a blur against the grimy backdrop.

“Stand down!”

The command was razor-sharp, an order that brooked no argument. Jason, paralyzed by agony and terror, was launched backward, his breath violently expelled from his lungs. He crashed with a sickening crunch into a stack of aged timber barrels, the sound of splintering wood and rattling chains filling the sudden, shocked silence of the tavern.
