An Arrogant Store Manager Mocked My Broken Watch, Unaware I Founded Her Entire Empire
Previously: When Clara brought a worn, vintage watch to an upscale boutique for repair, the arrogant manager tried to throw her out—completely unaware of the woman's true identity.
The Mask of Arrogance
The silence that fell over the boutique was deafening. The elegant chandeliers seemed to dim under the weight of Clara’s revelation. Liam stared at the faded photograph in his hands, his eyes darting back and forth between the young man in the picture and the proud, painted face of Arthur Vance on the wall. The resemblance was undeniable. The watch on Clara’s wrist was the legendary prototype—the very first timepiece Arthur had ever crafted by hand.
But Sarah, driven by panic and pride, refused to believe it. Her face flushed a deep, angry crimson. She could not accept that she had just insulted the matriarch of the entire brand. To admit her mistake would mean the end of her career, so she chose to fight.

"This is a ridiculous scam!" Sarah shrieked, her voice echoing off the high ceilings. "Do you honestly expect me to believe that the widow of Arthur Vance would walk in here dressed like a beggar? You are an impostor!"
She turned her wrath on Liam, pointing a manicured finger at his chest. "You are fired, effective immediately! Hand over your name tag and assist me in escorting this trespasser out of the building!" she ordered.
Liam did not move. He stood firmly in front of Clara’s wheelchair, shielding her from the manager’s fury.
"I won't do that, Sarah. Look at the engraving on the back of the case. It has the original family crest. This is Mrs. Vance,"he said, his voice remarkably calm despite the threat to his livelihood.
Enraged, Sarah signaled the two burly security guards standing near the entrance.
"Remove them both! If they resist, call the police!"she demanded. The guards hesitated, looking at Clara’s serene, dignified expression and then at Sarah’s frantic state. Just as one of the guards took a step forward, the heavy glass doors opened once more, and a tall, distinguished man in a bespoke gray suit stepped into the boutique.
