An Arrogant Store Manager Mocked My Broken Watch, Unaware I Founded Her Entire Empire
Previously: When Clara brought a worn, vintage watch to an upscale boutique for repair, the arrogant manager tried to throw her out—completely unaware of the woman's true identity.
A Timepiece Restored
The newcomer was Charles Higgins, the regional director of Vance & Co., who had arrived for a surprise annual inspection. Sarah’s face instantly brightened with false relief. She rushed toward him, desperate to control the narrative.
"Mr. Higgins! Thank goodness you're here. We have a security breach. A crazy woman and a rogue employee are trying to scam us,"she lied smoothly.
But Charles ignored her completely. His eyes had locked onto the elderly woman in the wheelchair. His breath hitched, and he pushed past Sarah, dropping directly to his knees in front of Clara.
"Mrs. Vance? Oh my goodness, it really is you,"Charles said, his voice filled with profound respect.
"We haven't seen you since the memorial service. What on earth is happening here?"

Clara smiled gently, placing a hand on Charles’s shoulder.
"I came to have Arthur's first watch repaired, Charles. But it seems your manager believes my husband's legacy is nothing but trash."
Charles's expression turned to ice as he stood up and faced Sarah. The manager was trembling, her face completely pale. "You are dismissed, Sarah," Charles said coldly. "Pack your things and leave. Your behavior is a disgrace to everything Arthur Vance stood for."
He then turned to Liam, who was still standing protectively by Clara’s side. Charles smiled.
"And you must be Liam. Mrs. Vance has spoken very highly of your integrity today. Starting tomorrow, you are the new manager of this flagship boutique. And we will happily sponsor your certification at our master watchmaking academy."
Tears welled in Liam's eyes as he thanked Clara. A few weeks later, Clara sat in her garden, looking down at her wrist. The vintage watch was ticking perfectly once more, its glass polished to a brilliant shine. She smiled, knowing that while time always moves forward, the values of kindness and respect would always remain timeless.
