The air in the luxury car dealership hummed with a low, expensive thrum. Motorized turntables slowly rotated gleaming hypercars, their cherry-red paint reflecting the muted city rain streaking down the floor-to-ceiling glass. Obsidian floors mirrored the scene, creating an illusion of infinite automotive splendor. This was Courtney Sterling’s domain, or so she believed. As Vice President, she commanded the space with an almost palpable arrogance. Today, that arrogance was directed at the showroom's custodian, Tommy Vance. He was an old man, stooped with age, his silver hair faded, his face a roadmap of sun-etched wrinkles. Clad in a worn, dusty custodian jumpsuit, he clutched a tarnished mop bucket. Courtney, a vision in charcoal wool and sharp platinum blonde, stormed towards him, her designer stiletto heels clicking like gunshots on the polished floor.

The Confrontation Begins

“You scuffed the multimillion-dollar paint with your filthy bucket, you worthless old parasite!” Courtney’s voice, sharp and venomous, sliced through the showroom's hushed ambiance. She towered over Tommy, her sneer a physical blow. Tommy remained silent, his lips sealed, his weathered hands tightening on the mop handle, his breath catching in his throat. The insult, cruel and unearned, hung heavy in the air. He was a ghost in his own empire, a man overlooked and underestimated, enduring the scorn of a woman who saw only the jumpsuit, not the man within.
