Previously: A barefoot street boy kneels before a wheelchair-bound billionaire and claims he can make him walk. But when the child's locket slips out, the truth about his late wife shatters everything.

The Morning of the Merger

The Greek shipping council met in a grand hall overlooking the harbor, its marble columns gleaming under crystal chandeliers. Damian arrived early, his confidence restored after a sleepless night of rehearsing his speech. He had the documents, the lawyer, the forged signatures. He was ready to take control of Cole Shipping and erase his brother from the company's history.

But when he walked into the hall, he stopped dead. Sebastian was already there, standing at the podium — standing, not sitting, his legs trembling slightly but holding his weight. Noah stood beside him, dressed in a clean white shirt that Eleni had found somewhere, his locket gleaming against his chest.

The council members murmured, their eyes wide. Damian's face drained of color. "How?" he whispered.

Sebastian smiled, a warm, genuine smile that reached his grey eyes. "It seems my son has a gift," he said. "He found a nerve path that your surgeons missed. And with a little physical therapy, I'll be walking without a cane in a month."

The room erupted in applause. Damian stood frozen, his hands shaking. He tried to speak, but no words came out.

Sebastian held up his hand, and the applause died down. "Before we begin," he said, "I have a few announcements. First, I'm reinstating myself as CEO of Cole Shipping. My brother, Damian, will be taking a leave of absence to address some personal matters."

Damian opened his mouth to protest, but Sebastian continued, his voice steel. "Second, I'm establishing a trust fund in memory of my late wife, Evelyn Cole. It will support children who have lost their parents to violence or tragedy. My son, Noah, will be its first ambassador."

The council members nodded, their approval evident. Damian's face was a mask of fury, but he said nothing. He knew he was beaten.

As the meeting concluded, Sebastian walked over to Damian, his gait slow but steady. "You have one hour to clear out your office," he said quietly. "And if you ever come near my family again, I'll release everything to the press. Understood?"

Damian nodded, his jaw tight. He turned and walked out of the hall, his shoulders hunched, his empire crumbling behind him.

The Locket That Opened a Heart

That evening, Sebastian and Noah sat on the terrace, watching the sun sink into the Aegean. Sebastian's leg was propped on a stool, the brace gone, replaced by a simple bandage. He still felt a dull ache, but it was a good ache — the ache of healing, of coming back to life.

Noah leaned against his shoulder, the locket open in his palm. "Do you think Mommy is watching?"

Sebastian looked at the portrait of Evelyn, her smile frozen in time. "I think she's been watching all along," he said. "And I think she's proud of you."

Noah smiled, a real smile, the kind that crinkles the corners of his eyes. "She told me you'd say that."

Sebastian pulled his son close, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. For the first time in eight years, he felt whole. He had a son, a future, and a second chance at life. The pain of the past would never fully fade, but it no longer defined him.

As the stars began to appear, Sebastian made a silent promise to Evelyn. He would protect their son, honor her memory, and never let anyone take what mattered most. The locket would stay with Noah, a symbol of the love that had survived even the darkest lies.

And in the weeks that followed, Sebastian walked a little further every day. He walked to the edge of the cliff and looked out at the sea, feeling the wind on his face, the ground beneath his feet. He walked with his son, hand in hand, and he knew that the best part of his story was only just beginning.

Some secrets are meant to stay buried. But some truths, no matter how painful, are meant to set you free.
