The gold-ornamented ballroom of the Grand Plaza was filled with the laughter of New York's elite. Clara sat in her electric blue gown, her wheelchair a stark contrast to the lively dancing around her. Beside her stood Arthur, looking sharp yet smug in a lime green tuxedo, holding a glass of champagne as he soaked in the admiration of their wealthy guests. Tonight was supposed to be their perfect engagement party, a celebration of a union between two of the city's most powerful families. But Clara felt like a ghost in her own life, trapped in the chair ever since the horrific car crash that had claimed her mother's life three years ago.

Suddenly, the double doors burst open, cutting off the orchestra mid-note. A young man, barefoot and disheveled, marched into the center of the room. His brown curls were wild, his clothes tattered and dusty, looking as though he had traveled miles on foot just to reach this grand stage. He ignored the gasps of the socialites and walked straight toward Clara's table, his intense gaze locked onto her.

"Let me dance with her," Leo said, his voice quiet but carrying an undeniable authority.

Arthur laughed mockingly, stepping forward to block his path.

"Do you even know who she is?"
"I know she wants to dance," Leo replied, refusing to back down.

A collective gasp rippled through the crowd. Arthur's face twisted in anger.

"Why should I let you near her?"

Leo looked past Arthur, his eyes locking onto Clara's with a deep, emotional intensity.

"Because I can make her stand."

Arthur's smug expression crumbled into sheer disbelief. "What did you say?"

Leo knelt before Clara, ignoring the murmuring crowd. He reached out a calloused hand.

"Dance with me," he whispered.

Clara stared at his hand. For three long years, doctors had insisted she would never feel her legs again. Yet, looking into Leo's eyes, she felt an inexplicable, warm spark deep within. "Stand up," she whispered to herself, her heart racing as a long-forgotten memory began to surface.
