Previously: When barefoot Audrey crashed a high-society gala to reach Daniel in his wheelchair, she claimed she could make him walk—by revealing the dark family secret he was forced to forget.

The Conspiracy Unveiled

The ballroom erupted into a flurry of hushed whispers. Robert signaled frantically to the security guards, his polished exterior completely crumbling. "Get this delusional woman out of my sight!" he roared, his voice betraying a hint of terror that the high-society guests had never heard before.

But Audrey wasn't going down without a fight. As two burly security guards grabbed her arms, she managed to toss a thick, faded medical folder onto Daniel’s lap. The folder burst open, scattering medical charts, toxicology reports, and old bank statements across his lap and onto the floor.

"Look at the dates, Daniel!" Audrey screamed as she was dragged backward. "Look at the medication they’ve been giving you! You were never permanently paralyzed!"

Daniel’s hands shook violently as he picked up a page. His eyes scanned the chemical names and the signatures at the bottom. It was a private medical log from the family’s personal physician—signed by Robert. The documents detailed a systematic administration of a rare, localized nerve-blocking agent. It wasn't the car accident three years ago that had kept Daniel in that wheelchair; it was a daily chemical regimen designed to keep him crippled and dependent, allowing Robert to maintain absolute control over the family empire.

The truth hit Daniel like a physical blow. He remembered the night of the crash. He remembered crawling out of the wreckage. He remembered standing up on his own two feet, bruised but alive, before Robert’s loyal doctor had injected him with a "sedative."

"Robert..." Daniel whispered, his voice trembling with a mixture of grief and fury. "You did this to me? For the inheritance?"

Robert frantically tried to snatch the papers from Daniel's lap. "Daniel, listen to me, she’s a liar! She forged these documents to tear our family apart!" Robert pleaded, his face pale and sweating. He turned to the guards. "Take her away and call the police!"

But Audrey broke free from the guards' grip, her eyes blazing. "The drug is out of your system, Daniel! I switched your injections with saline weeks ago through your nurse! Your legs are fine. You just have to try!"
