The Dark Secret Behind the Luxury Wedding

To understand the depth of Amanda's cruelty, one had to look back six months. Lauren and Amanda had been best friends since college, eventually co-founding a boutique marketing agency that had finally started turning a massive profit. Tyler, Amanda’s fiancé, was a charming but chronically unemployed developer who always seemed to live off of others. Lauren had tolerated him for Amanda’s sake, even agreeing to be the maid of honor and help plan their dream wedding.

But three days before the wedding, Lauren discovered a devastating discrepancy in their agency's accounts. Over eighty thousand dollars of client deposits and company reserves had been systematically transferred to a private offshore account. When Lauren traced the digital signature, it led straight to Amanda. Amanda had stolen their business's entire safety net to fund the crystal chandeliers, the premium open bar, and the extravagant ballroom venue. She had literally built her dream wedding on the ashes of Lauren's hard work.

When Lauren confronted Amanda in the bridal suite hours before the ceremony, expecting tears of regret, she was met with cold hostility. Amanda had sneered, tossing her blonde curls.

"If you make a scene today, Lauren, I will ruin you. No one will believe a bitter, single business partner over a beautiful bride on her wedding day. I'll tell everyone you embezzled the money."

Lauren had been paralyzed by the threat, walking down the aisle in a daze. But seeing Amanda and Tyler laugh as they literally kicked and stomped over her on the dance floor broke something inside her. The fear vanished, replaced by a cold, burning desire for justice. They thought they had silenced her by making her a laughingstock. They were dead wrong.
