The diner grew deathly quiet. The only sound was the low rumble of the idling V8 engines outside. Six tall, imposing men in matching black suits and tactical earpieces stepped out of the SUVs, ignoring the pouring rain. They moved with military precision, flanking the diner's entrance. The leader, a stern man named Marcus, pushed the glass door open and walked straight toward Edward’s booth, completely bypassing a stunned Axel.

Marcus stopped in front of Edward, bowing his head slightly in a gesture of profound respect.

"We are here, Mr. Vance. Are you harmed?" Marcus asked, his voice steady and commanding.

Edward looked down at his ruined suit and then at the broken pieces of his cane on the floor.

"Just a minor inconvenience, Marcus. But my late wife's cane is ruined," Edward replied softly.

Axel took a step back, his bravado evaporating. He realized too late that this was no ordinary retiree. Edward Vance was the reclusive founder of Vance Global Security, one of the most powerful private security firms in the country. The "old man" possessed resources that could make Axel disappear without a trace.

Marcus turned his cold gaze toward Axel. The biker instinctively reached for his pocket, but two of the suited men immediately stepped inside the diner, their hands resting on their holstered sidearms. Axel froze, his hands raised in surrender.

"You made a very poor choice tonight, son," Marcus whispered, stepping closer to Axel.

Axel’s tough-guy persona was completely gone. He stammered, looking around for any way out, but he was completely cornered. The diner staff and the few other patrons watched in absolute silence as the predator suddenly became the prey.
