The sterile, fluorescent-lit corridors of St. Jude’s Memorial Hospital were usually quiet at this hour, but the silence was shattered by the heavy thud of leather boots. Nurse Clara, a dedicated caregiver in her late thirties, stood calmly beside Arthur, an elderly patient she had grown incredibly fond of. Arthur, a proud veteran wearing his signature brown tweed flat cap and khaki military jacket, sat quietly in his wheelchair. But as Clara reached down to check his vitals, a shadow fell over them.

A crew of rugged bikers, clad in dark leather vests and heavy chains, marched aggressively down the hallway. Leading the pack was Marcus, a muscular, bald man whose face was etched with pure fury. Pointing a thick, tattooed finger at Clara, Marcus bellowed, "Hey! Did you see that? Get away from him!"

The sudden shout startled the entire ward. Before Clara could even process the intrusion, Marcus stormed up to them. Arthur looked up, his eyes wide with confusion and fear. Clasping his hand to his pale cheek, the elderly man whimpered softly, "She hit me."

The accusation hung heavily in the cool hospital air. Marcus stepped directly into Clara's personal space, towering over her with an intimidating glare. "Back off, lady," he warned, his voice low and dangerous. "You don't touch him."

Despite the terrifying presence of the biker gang, Clara didn't flinch. She held her ground, gesturing firmly to her light blue scrubs and white coat.

"This is a hospital. You want to help him, you let me do my job."

Marcus stared down at her, his jaw clenched, searching her eyes for any sign of guilt. Finding only fierce determination, he growled, "Then start explaining."
