Previously: When rugged biker Marcus answered a crying boy's desperate plea, he expected a simple neighborhood dispute. Instead, he stepped into a web of betrayal that forced him to confront his own past.

The Face from the Past

Derek spat on the ground, but he didn't dare step closer to Marcus's imposing frame. Instead, he sneered, his voice dripping with venom. "You think you're a hero, biker? You don't know anything about this family. She’s my wife. Get off my property before I call the cops."

Clara clung to Billy, her body shaking as she looked up at Marcus. "He’s right, Marcus," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "He... he has the papers. If you interfere, he’ll take Billy away from me forever."

Marcus froze. His mind raced as he processed her words. How did she know his name? He looked closely at Clara’s tear-stained face, wiping away the dirt and hair that obscured her features. Beneath the exhaustion and fear, a sudden, shocking realization hit him. The delicate curve of her jaw, the deep green of eyes—this wasn't a stranger. This was Clara, the younger sister of his late best friend, Jimmy, who had died in his arms overseas ten years ago.

"Clara?" Marcus breathed, his rugged exterior cracking. "I've been looking for you for five years. After Jimmy passed, you disappeared."

"He made me disappear, Marcus," Clara sobbed, pointing a trembling finger at Derek. "Derek knew Jimmy left me his military insurance and the deed to our family home. Derek married me under a false name, forced me to sign over the deed, and has been keeping me locked away. He threatened to hurt Billy if I ever tried to contact Jimmy's old brothers-in-arms."

Derek’s face went pale. He hadn't realized the rugged biker standing on his driveway was the legendary Marcus—the man Jimmy had always talked about, the brother who would stop at nothing to protect his family. Realizing his leverage was slipping, Derek reached slowly behind his back, his hand creeping toward his waistband.
