A Rough Biker Saves A Bullied Student Only To Reveal A Shocking Family Secret
Previously: When a ruthless college bully pushes quiet Ethan to the ground, an imposing biker rides into the courtyard to intervene. But this stranger carries a secret that will change Ethan's life forever.
The Weight of the Truth
For a tense second, Zach looked as if he might try to stand his ground. He glanced around the empty courtyard, hoping for an audience or an ally, but there was only the cold rain and the imposing figure on the silver cruiser. Marcus slowly kicked down the kickstand and dismounted, his tall frame towering over the young bully. The sheer physicality of the biker made Zach take an involuntary step backward, his bravado instantly evaporating.
"This isn't your business, old man," Zach muttered, though his voice lacked any real conviction.
Marcus took a single, deliberate step forward.
"I made it my business the moment you laid hands on him,"
Marcus replied, his voice calm but deadly serious.
"Drop the bag, Zach. Or we can discuss this with the dean—and your father."
Hearing his father mentioned made Zach pale. With a frustrated curse, Zach kicked the backpack toward Ethan, spun on his heel, and marched away, his red varsity jacket quickly disappearing around the corner of the brick building.
As the tension broke, the courtyard felt quieter, save for the steady patter of the rain. Marcus walked over to Ethan and extended a gloved hand. Ethan hesitated, staring at the rough, calloused hand before finally gripping it. Marcus pulled him up with effortless strength.
"Are you alright, kid?" Marcus asked, his stern expression softening into one of genuine concern.
"I'm fine," Ethan mumbled, quickly picking up his backpack and checking the contents inside. He pulled out a worn, leather-bound notebook—his late mother’s personal journal, filled with original sketches and letters. "He wanted to destroy this. He knew it was the only thing I had left of her."
Ethan wiped the moisture from the cover, his hands shaking. He looked up at the rugged biker, confusion washing over him. "How did you know my name? And how do you know Zach's father?"
Marcus sighed, reaching into his pocket to pull out an old, faded photograph. He handed it to Ethan. It showed a younger, smiling Marcus standing next to a beautiful woman with the exact same eyes as Ethan.
"Because I promised your mother I would look out for you,"
Marcus said softly.
"I’m your Uncle Marcus, Ethan. And it’s time you learned the truth about why I left."
