An Unlikely Savior Appears

Just as Armand’s fist descended, a massive, leather-clad hand shot out, intercepting his blow with a sickening thud. The impact stopped Armand cold, his momentum arrested by an immovable force. He stared, aghast, at the biker who now had his wrist in an iron grip.

"Who the hell are you—let go of my arm right now!"

Armand’s voice was a mixture of shock and outrage. The biker, however, remained silent, his scarred jaw set, his icy-blue eyes drilling into Armand’s with unnerving intensity. He applied a brutal, effortless torque, twisting Armand’s wrist. A wet, sickening crack echoed through the diner as Armand’s arm bent at an unnatural angle.

The landlord shrieked, his arrogance dissolving into pure agony as he was slammed onto his knees amidst the spilled coffee and broken porcelain.

"Ahhh! Stop, please! My wrist is snapping, you're breaking my damn arm!"

The biker didn’t flinch, his grip unwavering. Mateo, stunned into silence, pressed her trembling hands to her mouth, tears of relief streaming down her face. The biker loomed over the writhing landlord, wrenching his arm further back until Armand’s forehead scraped the wet linoleum.

With his free hand, the biker slammed a thick stack of hundred-dollar bills onto the table, the sound authoritative against the diner's neon hum.

"Her rent is paid in full for life, Dubois... now apologize to this lady before I snap your wing clean off at the shoulder."

Armand, hyperventilating, his face a mask of terror, finally managed a choked apology. As the biker released him, allowing him to scramble away, Mateo looked up at her savior. The biker turned, his imposing figure silhouetted against the rain-streaked window, and offered her a grim, reassuring nod.
