Inside the diner, the storm was far from over. Mr. Henderson glared at Connor, his arms crossed tightly over his chest.

"That was incredibly foolish, Connor,"

the manager hissed.

"You're letting your soft heart get the better of you. If I see you pulling a stunt like that again, you can pack up your things and find another job."
