Justice Served

David Holloway pivoted his gaze with lethal, glacial precision toward the cowering Gregory Thorne. He extracted a black titanium chairman crest from his lapel—a symbol of ultimate power—and flicked it contemptuously against Gregory's chest. The small metallic disc clattered against the expensive fabric of Thorne's overcoat.

“As majority owner of Thorne Capital, you are fired, ruined, and blacklisted—now strip off that coat and give it to him!”
Holloway’s voice was arctic finality. Gregory Thorne’s Adam’s apple bobbed violently in abject horror. His knees buckled, and he collapsed into the icy slush, a pathetic heap of shattered arrogance.

Holloway then turned back to Liam, his stern expression softening into one of deep concern. He gently helped Liam to his feet, steadying him. “Liam, it’s me. David. I’ve been looking for you.” Liam stared, trying to reconcile the powerful CEO with the commander he once knew. David explained that after Liam’s unit was ambushed and he was presumed lost, David had been devastated. He poured his grief into building Thorne Capital, vowing to create a legacy Liam would be proud of, and to find any surviving brothers-in-arms.

He revealed that Gregory Thorne was his estranged nephew, a ruthless executive David had always distrusted. Seeing Gregory attack Liam was the final straw. David had discovered Gregory’s illegal dealings and had been gathering evidence, but Liam’s brutal mistreatment by his own kin catalyzed David’s decision to act swiftly and decisively. He ensured Gregory’s assets were frozen and his reputation destroyed, just as he had threatened.

David then draped his own expensive overcoat over Liam’s trembling shoulders. “This is just the beginning, Master Sergeant. You’re coming home. We’ll get you the best medical care, a place to stay… everything you deserve.” Liam, overwhelmed, could only nod, tears of relief finally flowing freely, mingling with the melting frost on his cheeks. The Silver Star, once a symbol of past glory, now represented a future reclaimed. Justice, in its most unexpected form, had been served. The bond forged in war had proven stronger than any adversity.
