Previously: A spoiled heir's cruel abuse of a diner worker escalates, leading to a dramatic confrontation with his billionaire father and a life-altering decision that no one saw coming.

The Father's Fury and a Father's Choice

The words hung in the air, heavy with unspoken history and parental authority. Julian, caught between his ingrained arrogance and the terrifying reality of his father's rage, stood frozen. The smirk had vanished, replaced by a mask of pure, unadulterated fear. Thomas Wright’s presence filled the small diner, his imposing frame a stark contrast to his son’s suddenly diminished stature. He had built an empire from the ground up, and he wouldn't stand by and watch his son tear it down with such callous disregard for others.

Tommy, still trembling, watched the exchange with wide, disbelieving eyes. He’d faced bullies before, but never one backed by such immense power, and never with the owner of the establishment bearing witness. He could feel the sting on his cheek, the humiliation burning, but beneath it, a flicker of something else began to stir – a desperate hope that perhaps, just perhaps, Mr. Wright’s intervention meant something more than a temporary reprieve.

"You dare… you DARE… strike an employee? In MY diner?"

Thomas Wright’s voice dropped to a dangerous, gravelly whisper. He took a step forward, his eyes never leaving Julian’s. The neon lights seemed to dim in his presence, casting long, distorted shadows that danced with the rain outside. Julian visibly swallowed, his meticulously slicked-back hair suddenly looking less dapper and more desperate.

"Dad, I… he…" Julian stammered, his usual confident drawl replaced by a pathetic whine. He gestured vaguely towards Tommy, his hand shaking. "He disrespected me. My car… it’s worth more than this entire block!"

"Your car? Your car is a symbol of your ignorance, Julian. A symbol of everything I have tried to shield you from, and everything you have chosen to embrace. You have the Vance name, the Vance fortune, but you lack the Vance heart. You lack decency."

Thomas Wright’s words were like hammer blows, each one chipping away at the facade Julian had so carefully constructed. He strode past his son, his gaze sweeping over Tommy with a look that was surprisingly gentle, considering the storm brewing within him. He placed a steadying hand on Tommy’s shoulder, a gesture that spoke volumes.

"Tommy, are you alright? Did he hurt you badly?"

Tommy could only nod, tears welling anew, this time not entirely from pain or humiliation, but from a profound sense of being seen, of being validated. Mr. Wright squeezed his shoulder reassuringly before turning back to his son, his expression hardening into something resolute.

"You have embarrassed me. You have disgraced this establishment. And you have proven, once and for all, that you are not fit to carry the Vance legacy."

Julian’s face contorted. "What are you saying, Dad? You can’t possibly mean…"

"I mean, Julian, that your actions have consequences. Consequences you are about to understand very, very clearly."

Thomas Wright reached into his suit jacket, his movements deliberate and unnerving. Julian watched, his breath held captive in his chest, bracing for a verbal lashing, perhaps a financial punishment. He was utterly unprepared for what came next.
