Previously: After being wrongfully disgraced and blacklisted from the force, elite marksman Jessica steps onto a dusty desert range to prove her doubters wrong with seven impossible shots.

A Past Refusing to Stay Buried

Ryan slowly took off his sunglasses, staring at Jessica with newfound respect. "Who taught you to shoot like that?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine awe. But before Jessica could answer, the peace of the desert was shattered by the screeching of tires. A black SUV tore through the dust, coming to a halt right behind the firing line.

The door flew open, and a man in a sharp tactical uniform stepped out, flanked by two armed private security guards. It was Marcus, Jessica’s ex-husband and the corrupt commander who had ruined her career three years ago. He had framed her for an operational failure to protect his own illegal dealings, stripping her of her badge and blacklisting her from the community.

"Well, well, Jessica," Marcus sneered, his eyes filled with malice. "Still playing with toys you aren't authorized to touch? You're violating a federal court order just by holding that weapon."

Jessica kept her grip tight on the rifle, her knuckles turning white. "You have no authority here, Marcus. This is a private range, and those papers are as fake as the charges you framed me with."

Marcus gestured to his guards. "Seize the weapon and detain her. She is a threat to public safety."

As the guards stepped forward, Ryan unexpectedly stepped in front of Jessica, his hand resting near his holster. The legendary instructor was not about to let his range be turned into a personal playground for a corrupt officer.

"Not on my range, Marcus," Ryan said, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "You want to arrest someone? Bring real deputies. Otherwise, tell your thugs to back off before this gets ugly."

Marcus laughed coldly, reaching slowly into his jacket. "Are you really going to ruin your career for a disgraced fraud, Ryan? She has nothing left to offer you but trouble." Jessica stood behind Ryan, her heart hammering. She knew Marcus was desperate. If she didn't act now, Marcus would destroy her chance at redemption forever.
